Anji Izakaya? Absolute gem. Walked in for a chill night out and left already planning my next visit. This spot nails the vibe, moody lighting, buzzing but not too loud, and servers who actually get it. They’re friendly without hovering, so you can just unwind with your crew. Now, the food? Fire. You can taste the wok hei, everything’s got that smoky, savoury punch. But the Creamy Udon? Game over. Rich, velvety, stupidly flavourful, order it or regret it.

Really liked this place! The mackerel sashimi was super fresh, the yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) was surprisingly good, and the fried octopus was crispy and not chewy at all. Chill atmosphere, friendly staff, and solid drinks. Would totally come back for another night out.

One of the rare gems in between North York and Thornhill area. The atmosphere is super chill and the food is always so comforting. My go to spot after work on a weekday. Visit them and try their Beef Brisket Yakisoba and their Happy Hour special.

Great spot to hang out and relax with friends. Happy hour runs from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m., with beers for just 5. The food is excellent—especially the kataifi-wrapped shrimp tempura.

I'm Japanese and Anji Izakaya is my most favorite Izakaya in this town. I have been here 5 times in the last 2 months! My recommendations are “Grilled Mackerel “, “Shimesaba”, “Yukhoe” and “Deep-Fried Squid Legs”. All the food is delicious and reasonable! I really love this restaurant. Thank you for making my life in Canada more beautiful!

This place is my guilty pleasure! You can't come in for just one dish. Impossible. Everything is so good you end up ordering half a menu and a forklift to help you exit. Highly recommended for foodies and just anyone who appreciates cozy atmosphere.

I resisted going here based on some pictures I saw and the thinking that I don't want to eat mainly just sushi for dinner. Well, after our dining experience last night I discovered that this restaurant isn't at all what I thought it would be. There are so many interesting dishes to choose from. Every dish is very reasonably priced. Also, if you consider the large portion size you would have to agree that customers are getting good value for their money. We all considered our meals to be "out of this world" because of the flavours that sent our taste buds dancing in delight. The food is fresh and flavourful. Our server also deserves commendation for she was always there when we needed her. She was well spoken, she had a very nice personality and helped to make our evening and our experience a success.
